GOLDDIGGER DAYS

"During one of my dance classes a friend asked why I had not gone with Linda, another girl in our class to Dayton, Ohio, a neighboring town to audition for the Golddiggers....".

Peggy Gohl has been performing professionally since graduating high school, and as a feature soloist worked alongside stars such as George Burns, Jackie Gleason and other celebrity acts. She studied at the Civic Light Opera, and her roots were founded in musical theatre and included a variety of roles in shows such as Oklahoma, Show Boat and Damn Yankees alongside such stars as Mickey Rooney, Gwen Verdon and Ray Walston. She was the opening act for Magician David Copperfield as well as being featured at Radio City Music Hall (backed by a 65-piece orchestra).

But Peg's favorite performances were the 17 consecutive years she spent as one of the famous Dean Martin Golddiggers, also working with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope and Kenny Rogers. Peg had the longest run of any of the Golddiggers, and was graced with the moniker, "Crazy" by Dean himself.

One of Peg's favorite memories of Dean was after 15 years of working with him she was stunned to discover he knew her real name, when he addressed her as "ol' Peg Leg." She was also especially flattered to find out that Dean was impressed by her chops.

Peg currently performs in and around Southern California. She writes some of her own tunes, and later this year plans on recording her first CD.
